On December 2, 2024, Bank J. Safra Sarasin AG announced the acquisition of 100% of the shares of MIV Asset Management AG («MIV»).
MIV is characterized through its investments in medical technology and its flagship fund, the MIV Global Medtech Fund. MIV is known for its innovative approach and in-depth knowledge of the sector. MIV&#8217;s offering is an addition to Bank J. Safra Sarasin&#8217;s range of thematic equity strategies, which are available to both private and institutional investors.
MIV&#8217;s investment strategy and organizational structure will remain unchanged to ensure solid performance and seamless client service.

On August 22, 2023, Novartis (SIX: NOVN) announced that it had agreed to transfer its real estate and certain infrastructure-related assets and services pertaining to the Life Science Park Rhine Valley in Stein, Canton of Aargau, Switzerland, to the industrial park operator Getec. Currently, almost 2,000 employees work in pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies on the Life Science Park Rhine Valley.
Upon completion of the transaction, the management and further development of the life science park will be taken over by Getec. The transfer is expected to be completed by the end of 2023 and 25 employees will move from Novartis to Getec.
Homburger advises Novartis alongside Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer on the Swiss law and tax aspects of the transaction. Homburger advises Novartis on the transfer of the Life Science Park Rhine Valley to Getec

On December 13, 2022, Tandem Diabetes Care, Inc. (NASDAQ: TNDM), a global insulin delivery and diabetes technology company, announced that it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire AMF Medical SA, the privately held Swiss developer of the Sigi™ Patch Pump, an insulin delivery solution.
The consideration includes a previous strategic investment of CHF 8.0 m, an upfront cash payment of CHF 62.4 m, and additional contingent earnout payments of up to CHF 129.6 m, in aggregate, payable upon the achievement of certain milestones. The transaction is subject to the satisfaction of customary closing conditions and is expected to close in January 2023.
Homburger, who also advised AMF Medical on its previous financing rounds, acts as transaction counsel to AMF Medical SA and its shareholders.
