On June 25, 2024, Neustark AG (neustark), a Switzerland-based carbon removal provider, announced that it has raised a USD 69 m in funding to expand carbon removal solution globally. The growth equity round was led by Decarbonization Partners, a partnership between BlackRock and Temasek, and will reinforce neustark’s continued growth path and support their mission to permanently remove 1 million tons of CO2 in the year 2030. Climate tech growth investor Blume Equity also participated in the round.
The investment in neustark is one of the largest growth equity investment rounds in carbon removal and was backed by the existing investors Siemens Financial Services, Verve Ventures, ACE Ventures and Holcim. It is intended to propel neustark&#8217;s expansion across Europe, North America and Asia-Pacific.
Homburger acted as legal advisor to Blume Equity in connection with the transaction.

On June 28, 2024, Aris Gold Corporation (TSX: ARIS) announced that it has closed the acquisition of an additional 31% interest in the Soto Norte project in Colombia, increasing its total ownership in the joint venture to 51%. Soto Norte is one of the largest undeveloped underground gold projects in South America. Abu Dhabi based investment company Mubadala Investment Company PJSC will retain a 49% interest in the project.
Homburger acted as Swiss counsel to Aris Gold Corporation. The Homburger team was led by Daniel Hasler and included Jasmin Künzle (both Corporate / M&amp;A, Capital Markets) as well as Jürg Frick and Stefan Bindschedler (both Financing and Investment Products).

On July 1, 2024, Meyer Burger Technology AG (SIX: MBTN) completed a reverse split of its shares in the ratio 750:1, which had been approved by its annual general meeting of shareholders held on June 25, 2024. The listing and first day of trading of the new shares on SIX Swiss Exchange took place on July 1, 2024.
