Homburger wins three IFLR awards

Homburger has followed last years’ success at the IFLR Awards by winning three trophies at the IFLR Awards ceremonies 2010.At the IFLR Europe Awards, which took place on March 18, 2010, in London, Homburger has been rewarded again as “Swiss Law Firm of the Year”. Taking home the national award for the fourth year running and all in all for the sixth time, reflects Homburger’s leading role in some of the most demanding international finance deals of 2009, such as advising UBS on the conversion of Mandatory Convertible Notes by the Swiss Confederation, or advising gategroup on its migration from the USA to Switzerland and its listing on the SIX Swiss Exchange.In London, Homburger could also pick up the trophy in the category “M&A Deal of the Year” as advisor to PARIS RE on its acquisiton by PartnerRe, together with the other five law firms involved in this deal. In addition, Homburger had been shortlisted for the “Securitisation and Structured Finance Deal of the Year” award for advising UBS on its Covered Bond programme.At the IFLR Americas Awards 2010, the Roche / Genentech deal has triumphed as “M&A Deal of the Year”, bringing Homburger the second IFLR M&A trophy this year for advising Roche as to Swiss law on the financing of this deal. In the same category, Homburger had also been shortlisted for advising Warner Chilcott on its acquisition of Procter & Gamble’s pharmaceutical business. The IFLR Americas Awards took place on March 25, 2010, in New York.International Financial Law Review (IFLR) recognizes annually the most innovative legal deals of the past year and the firms that completed them.
